Calcium Lactate vs Calcium Lactate Gluconate

In the Modernist Ingredients and Equipment Forum
I have been dabbling for a while and received the ultimate kit for Christmas (Yeah). The first thing I wanted to try is spherification, I was giving reverse spherification a go when i noticed the recipes call for calcium lactate and the kit came with calcium lactate gluconate. I have read a number of other forums which were helpful enough to tell me to go for it as is but I am curious what your take is?

I don't do much with it but my understanding is the gluconate has about half the calcium as the calcium lactate does (which is about half of calcium chloride). So you just need to adjust the amount you use. I believe it has a similar taste to the calcium lactate (compared to the chloride, which is really sour).
