Sous vide is a wonderful method of cooking that makes it easy to turn out delicious, amazing food that will impress your friends and family. However, there are some basics you should understand before you get started, as well as some more advanced techniques to maximize your sous vide experience.

Sous Vide Accessories

We all love toys, and getting your machine is only the first step in the sous vide process! It's definitely enough to get you started cooking amazing food, but you might be interested in some of the other accessories out there that make sous vide even more convenient.

My absolute favorite sous vide accessory is my blow torch! It works amazing for searing foods without over cooking them and there is just something so much fun about using a blow torch. I use the Bernzomatic TS8000 and it works great.

While not nearly as exciting, getting a sous vide water bath container and accessories makes the whole experience much easier. There are several options here including a water bath to cook in, a lid to reduce evaporation, and racks or magnets to hold the bags in place. I put together an article on my recommended sous vide water bath systems that discusses the pros and cons of several options.
