Good Espresso Machine

In the Modernist Techniques Forum
Hello people, kinda off topic but I'm about to purchase a new espresso machine and I would like some advice on a good equipment that would go well when coffee serving comes into action.
I have found some fancy ones in promo sale (http://www.stellacoffees.com/best-espresso-machine-under-1000-dollars/ ) I wonder if these machines are really worth or perhaps I can find something better by that same amount?

Thank you in advance

Since you do not mention the type of espresso machine you prefer, e.g., traditional to semi- to super-automatic, you pose a difficult question. While I purchased my espresso machine (Rancilio Silvia) elsewhere, I found the proprietors of this site

went well beyond the call of duty in giving me lots of advice to get off to a good start. Their site has all sorts of information and many times, the machines are on sale. They have refurbished items available as well.

I think my RS has been in daily use for about a decade. It has only needed one minor repair, I located a service center in a small Oregon town which, through emailed photos and description of problem, sent me the part and told me how to install it (all of a 30 second install time ). The owner is Italian so knows his espresso machines.

Hope this helps
