We were given a full Chatwin Crucial Knife Set for free to test out. Below is my summary, with a link to the full review at the end.

What We Like About the Chatwin Crucial Knife Set

The knives have a great, unique design with really cool looking "rosewood" handles and an exposed tang on the back. The knives are on the lighter side, which makes then easy to handle. Well designed handles and a nicely rounded spine make for comfortable cutting, even over long periods of time.

The Chatwin knives cut very easily and held their edges very well. They also come with a unique V-shaped magnetized holder which is a good way to show off your knives.

What We Don't Like About the Chatwin Crucial Knife Set

While the unique design looks really cool, the notch caused some callousing on the back of my middle finger where it rubbed. The exposed tang also was a little "sharp" when handling the knife, though not during cutting.

Too much side-to-side tension can cause the thinner blades to snap, so do not use them for prying in any way.

Why We Recommend the Chatwin Crucial Knife Set

All in all, I really enjoyed the Chatwin knife set and the paring knife is now my go-to paring knife. The chefs knife has also worked its way into my rotation as a solid backup knife. If you are looking for a knife with a lighter blade, these knives work really well and might be just what you are looking for.

If it sounds right for you, buy one today!
